WHERE: The Heartland B & B Country Inn
The Heartland Inn is located in Independence, Texas, in Washington County, just minutes north of Brenham (an easy hour and fifteen minutes from our church). Heartland is on 158 beautiful acres and the Inn is perched atop a hill overlooking a spectacular panoramic view of rolling country side that immediately takes your breath away with scenery usually found only on postcards or in your dreams. A truly special adventure is awaiting you in a back-to-nature stress-free getaway with cows grazing in the meadows, a country church, lakes, trees, Texas wildflower’s and native wildlife. Large sunny or shaded porches, balconies and patios enhance your enjoyment of hilltop breezes, serene vistas and sunsets that make rest and relaxation the way of life at Heartland.
LUXURY ACCOMIDATIONS: The Heartland House & The County Inn
There are seven lovely houses at Heartland and two of them have been reserved just for us. The houses are tastefully furnished with a unique combination of elegance in a casual atmosphere. Comfortable beds and a variety of antiques and accessories reflect a lovely blend of gracious furnishings. The bedrooms vary in size and have from one to six beds in each room. Each room also has a private bath and entrance.
FINE DINING: Countryview Terrace
For the ultimate in dining, the lovely Countryview Terrace overlooks a beautiful view of the rolling countryside. It is here you will enjoy delicious meals while viewing nature’s outdoor scenery in a comfortable environment. They offer a breakfast feast from country-style home cooking to gourmet menus, as well as vegetarian and wheat-free diets. They take time to prepare really fine lunch and dinner meals the old fashioned way, with lots of fresh vegetables and fruits, homemade salad dressings and desserts. No short cuts!
