The Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML), with a membership of over 250,000, is the official women's organization of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. The LWML focuses on affirming each woman in her relationship with Christ to enable her to be in ministry among the people of the world. For over 60 years the organization has been encouraging and equipping women to live out their Christian lives in active mission ministries and to financially support global missions.

The 35th Biennial Convention of the Texas District LWML will be held in Houston, June 27-29, 2008. It will be at the Westchase Marriott Hotel, 2900 Briarpark.

The convention theme is "Lord Open My Eyes" based on John 4:35B, "...open your eyes and look at the fields. They are ripe for harvest." (NIV)

On Friday, June 27, 7:30 p.m. the opening Worship & Celebration Service will commence. The Proclaimer will be Rev. Ken Henning.

A church bus will leave at 4:00 p.m. from the FLC parking lot to attend the opening service. We will have an early dinner at a restaurant located near the hotel. Bus seating is limited.
