Trinity's website provides information about Trinity's ministries and current events. A number of special Trinity events require registration and we frequently provide an online registration option for these events.
Here are some other features of the site:
- The "news" of Trinity is contained
in news articles that are
displayed on the home page and in some other locations, too. By
clicking on the "Trinity Current Events" button, you can see all these
news articles. All announcements published in the weekly Ministry Announcements are available here. Because of space limits on the Ministry Announcements, you may find more news on the web than the print version.
- When you move your mouse over certain menu items, you may see other menu options available. For example, the Ministry Announcements button has a full set of submenus which allow you to go to ministry announcements for particular ministry areas.
- The "This Week at Trinity" calendar from the Ministry Announcements is also available in an appropriately titled news item.
- A photo album is incorporated into the website and a random photo from the entire set of photos is displayed on the home page. Clicking on this photo will jump you into that place in the photo album. Once there, you can easily navigate to other areas of the photo album using the available links.

When I have been working on developing ideas for the various web sites I manage, I frequently seek out information on how the site was done. So I decided to dedicate a page on this site to providing that information to anyone who is interested.
The most current activity of this site is the migration to a content management system approach using Joomla. This is a major shift in practice since it will allow many users to become involved in maintaining content for the website.
The last "incarnation" of the website was a Dreamweaver-developed site. This current site is currently co-existing with the new Joomla-based system.
As of November 2005, a revision was made to the site to replace the Brothercake menu system with a complete CSS menu. The new menu was developed after reviewing the Son of Suckerfish blog. The previous menu system was part of a general makeover implemented in October 2004. The current design was largely inspired by studying other church sites, especially www.bccva.org, Burke Community Church in Virginia. They're not Lutherans, but they have some very nice ideas! We also look closely at other Lutheran churches for ideas. Since the vast majority of people run 800X600 resolution, the pages have been designed with this resolution in mind.
