When You Visit...
On Arrival: It can be intimidating visiting a new church for the first time. From the moment you pull into the parking lot, it is our desire for you to see friendly faces and well-marked signs pointing you in the right direction. There is a drive-through porte cochere at the entrance to the church lobby. There will be ambassadors with red shirts to point you in the right direction. In the center of the church lobby is a Welcome desk with someone there to answer any questions you may have about the church and its ministries.
Parking: Trinity Lutheran Church is located at 5201 Spring Cypress Road. When you arrive, you will notice special parking spots designated for our guests. These are located on the first three rows to the east of the Sanctuary. Additional parking is located in the lots facing Klein Church Road.
What to Wear: We welcome you as you are – we want you to feel comfortable worshiping. There is no dress code. In the 8:00 and 9:30 AM Traditional Services, you´ll notice that the dress is a little more formal than the 11 AM. Exalt Praise(contemporary) Service. You will see a number of men dressed in suits and ties, and women dressed in attire similar to “office wear”. In the contemporary service, people tend to dress more comfortably and less formally-- anything from "office casual" to jeans and sneakers.
Coffee and Donuts: Join us for a complimentary donut or a cup of coffee in front of the chapel. Information about Trinity and the various opportunities to become involved are located in the lobby area of the sanctuary.
Worship: When you enter the sanctuary, you´ll be given a copy of the bulletin which has the week´s announcements and an outline for the day´s service. The service and song lyrics are displayed on the walls on either side of the altar area. Hymns are sung in the Traditional Service and contemporary Christian music in the Praise Exalt Service. Ushers are available to help you find a seat.
Children in Worship: We welcome and encourage family worship time. Children learn so much from attending worship with their parents--it's the beginning of a legacy of setting time aside each week for worship. We provide Children's bulletins which are located on tables just before you enter the Sanctuary. If your child should become restless, we do have an area where you can still watch the service while your child "gets the wiggles out". Ask an usher to show you this space. Children under the age of 4 are welcome in The Ark Nursery.
Communion: We celebrate communion on the 1st and 3rd Sundays in the Traditional Services and on the 2nd and 4th Sundays in the Exalt Praise Service. Communion (also known as the eucharist or the Lord´s Supper) is God's gift through which He acts to impart His forgiveness and strength to communicants. Lutherans believe that Christ's true body and blood are present in, with, and under the external elements of bread and wine. If you have not been confirmed in an LCMS church, we ask that you speak with a pastor prior to receiving the Lord's Supper.
Offering: There is an offering time, when members have the opportunity to offer their contributions to the church and its missions - as our guest, you are under no pressure to give.
Children: During our Sunday morning worship services, we provide a fully staffed nursery for children two months old through Pre-K. The Ark Nursery is located on Klein Church Rd. across from The Pier Youth facility. A nursery child caregiver will take your information to enter in our computerized check-in system, print a security label for your child and a security receipt for you to submit to pick your child up from the nursery, and provide you with a pager that will alert you should you be needed. Parents are encouraged to take their Sunday School aged children 3 years old and up to their Sunday School class during the Sunday School hour at 9:30 a.m.. Two-year-olds and their parents may attend our Trinity Two-Year-Olds class in the Early Childhood Education Center. Adult Bible classes are offered at 9:30 and 11:00 a.m.
After Worship: Our pastors are available to greet you as you exit the sanctuary following services. You'll find lots of people sharing in fellowship in the lobby and Family Life Center. Please take this opportunity to come to the Welcome Center for more information.
